Vets on Lacey: Permanent supportive housing for low-income veterans in Spokane
Vets on Lacey is VOA’s newly constructed permanent housing community developed to provide safe, stable housing for low-income veterans in Spokane. Designed for veterans who are ready to live independently, the property offers a supportive community environment where residents can rebuild stability, routine, and connection.
Program Features
- Twelve individual fully furnished one-bedroom apartments
- ADA-compliant units designed to support independent living
- Permanent housing for low-income veterans
- Shared community spaces including a courtyard, BBQ area, firepit, and raised garden beds
- Bike repair station
- Pet-friendly for approved service animals and emotional support animals
Who This Housing Is For
Residents typically meet the following criteria:
- Low-income veterans or veterans experiencing homelessness
- Veterans able to live independently in their own apartment
- Veterans with housing vouchers or other eligible rental assistance
Referrals and Housing Process
- Veterans may be referred to Vets on Lacey through community partners, including Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program.
- Referrals may also come through the VA Spokane Health Care System’s Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program.
- Veterans may contact the community manager directly to inquire about housing availability.
- When a unit is available, the housing process typically takes approximately one to three weeks, depending on documentation and housing voucher requirements.
- Some residents may utilize housing vouchers provided through the Spokane Housing Authority, while others may have their own eligible rental assistance.
