Veterans Housing: Honoring Service, Restoring Hope
At Volunteers of America, we believe in standing by those who stood for us. Our Veterans Transitional Housing Program provides a lifeline for chronically homeless veterans who are navigating the complex challenges of mental illness, substance use, physical disabilities, and other barriers. This program is more than a place to stay—it’s a community where veterans find dignity, hope, and a path to stability.
Who We Serve
We serve individuals who have proudly served in the U.S. military, offering transitional housing to up to 20 veterans at a time. These brave individuals are referred to us through the Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program and face significant hurdles on their journey to stability.
Participants live in a 20-unit, single-family residential community, designed to provide not just shelter but also nearby access to services, amenities, and a supportive environment.
What We Do
Our mission is to empower veterans with compassionate care and a continuum of support that paves the way for long-term success. Each veteran is paired with a dedicated VOA case manager, who works with them to:
- Assess needs
- Stabilize their lives
- Set achievable goals
We focus on addressing the basic building blocks of life while fostering personal growth and independence.
Comprehensive Support Services
Our program provides a holistic approach to healing and recovery, offering assistance in every area that contributes to a stable and fulfilling life:
- Education Access – Support for pursuing degrees, certifications, and training programs.
- Employment Assistance – Job readiness, placement services, and vocational training.
- Financial Support – Guidance on healthcare and benefit programs.
- Life Skills Training – Budgeting, cooking, housekeeping, and laundry services.
- Mental Health Care – Access to counseling, peer support, and treatment programs.

A Community of Care
At the heart of our program is a commitment to community. By offering veterans a safe, supportive place to call home, we create an environment where they can focus on recovery, rebuild their confidence, and reimagine their futures. Veterans who join our program are not just residents—they are part of a family that respects their service and invests in their success.
Join Us in Supporting Our Veterans
Every veteran deserves a chance to heal and rebuild. Your support can make that possible. By donating or simply spreading the word about our program, you can be part of the solution to end veteran homelessness. Together, we can honor their service with the care and compassion they so greatly deserve.
Let’s help our veterans find the stability and independence they fought so hard to protect for others.
