Volunteers of America of Eastern Washington (VOA) invites members of the community to submit applications for open board of director positions.

Who We Are
VOA is a 501(c)(3) organization that has provided services to the greater Spokane community for over 125 years. The mission of VOA is devoted to ending homelessness by uplifting people and meeting needs. Through innovative, life changing services, we provide opportunities for people to rebuild their lives and fulfill their potential. Our programs include: Crosswalk Youth Shelter Hope House Women’s Shelter Young Adult Shelter Permanent Supportive Housing Veterans’ Housing Foster Youth Services Alexandria’s House Licensed Maternity Home Youth Transitional Housing.
Time Commitment
The VOA board of directors meets six times a year on a every other month schedule on the Third Thursday of each month from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Board members are expected to attend all regular board meetings and special meetings either in person or virtually. Directors are asked to serve a three (3) year term with a limit of three (3) consecutive terms (9 years). The average monthly time commitment for the board ranges, but averages around five (5) hours a month. As a member of the board of directors you are responsible for: Ensuring the mission, philosophy, goals and missions of VOA are being delivered in the community in a fiscally responsible manner. Assist with the development of VOA through a variety of fundraising opportunities including an annual gift that is meaningful to you. The Board of Directors are responsible for all board operations and the annual evaluation of the Executive Director of Mission and Services.
