The Young Adult Transitional Housing program (YTH) is a housing first model that master leases apartments for young people 18 to 24 years old. The program gives our participants a safe and stable place to live while gaining important life skills, through case management, that will promote independence and self-sufficiency. Our young people have the option of taking over their lease when they are ready to transition out of the program. However, if more support is needed when their transitional housing program ends, there is the option of the Rapid Re-Housing program.
The Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) program is a lighter touch program that supports our young people through continued rental assistance and case management. The participant in the RRH program signs their own lease with the property owner and VOA will support financially through a progressive engagement model. Progressive engagement will be individualized to each young person’s situation and needs. However, the goal of the RRH program is to help households until they are no longer imminently at risk of becominging homeless.
