SUMMARY:Bridget Cannon Celebration of Life
DESCRIPTION:It is with profound sadness that I share with you the loss of our one and only\, Bridget Cannon\, VP of Program Operations. She was a friend\, an ally\, a mentor\, a fierce advocate for youth people\, and most importantly one of the best humans you’ll ever meet. She was quick to laugh\, was the best storyteller and loved adventure. \nHer love for VOA and the people in our doors was proven every day she stepped through them. For 32 years\, Bridget Cannon came to VOA to ensure that young people had what they needed to thrive\, and she stopped at nothing to provide it. \nBridget was not only a colleague\, but a true friend and had a profound impact on us as human beings by teaching us how to do this work with intensity\, honesty and fierceness. \nAs a VOA family\, we are holding space to grieve Bridget’s loss. We know many of you will be doing the same.

SUMMARY:I Remember Mama
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, we have the privilege of hosting a heartfelt Mother’s Day luncheon for the resilient women in our programs\, including the young mothers residing in Alexandria’s House. These courageous mothers\, often finding themselves without local family and friends\, find comfort and camaraderie in our gathering as they navigate through a special day missing those they love. Mother’s Day carries significant weight for those we serve\, especially with the added trials of homelessness. Your generosity has the power to transform their day into one filled with joy and warmth. By contributing just $35\, you can sponsor one of these resilient mothers\, making them feel cherished and celebrated. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for over two decades of your unwavering support of our moms! Your kindness has made Mother’s Day a heartwarming occasion for these deserving women\, reminding them that they are valued and loved. As a token of appreciation\, we offer the opportunity to make a gift in honor of a cherished mother figure in your life. We will gladly send them a Mother’s Day card\, conveying your warm wishes to brighten their day. Thank you for being a pillar of support for our community’s mothers in need. SUMMARY:Eye Contact 2025
DESCRIPTION:“Get ready to ignite your senses at Eye Contact 2025! We’re thrilled to announce that we are introducing a theme this year\, “Sacred Shapes”\, a tribute to the powerful ways we are shaped by connection\, healing\, and hope. Through art by our clients and storytelling\, we’ll explore expressions of resilience and strength.\nOne of nature’s sacred shapes is the sunflower – turning toward the light\, standing tall\, and growing each day. You may recognize it from our Crosswalk logo\, and it’s no coincidence we chose it. Just like the youth we serve\, sunflowers turn toward the light and grow each day\, and that spirit is at the heart of everything we do.\nIt’s also no coincidence that these come together at this year’s Eye Contact as we celebrate Crosswalk’s grand opening! After years of dreaming\, planning\, and unwavering partnership\, Spokane’s young people now have a safe\, welcoming space-built with them and for them\, by our amazing community partners and YOU!\nJoin us in the historic Washington Cracker Building for an unforgettable evening featuring a silent and live auction\, wine pull\, and paddle raise. Enjoy delicious bites from Inland Pacific Kitchen\, be inspired by success stories\, and cheer for award recipients who exemplify our mission. Come mingle during cocktail hour\, bid on specially curated items\, and raise a paddle to turn more dreams into reality.”\nPurchase Tickets \nFor questions about this event or to donate\, please contact Sherrece Scott at sscott@voaspokane.org or call 509-862-4877. \n\n  \n   \n
